Online Inspection System

With our new online inspection request system a password will be necessary for you to gain access. Forms for contractors and other users of this system, as well as instructions are available here. Inspection results will be posted within 15 minutes of completion. You will not be able to request an inspection on the same day the permit is issued. If this is necessary, please call Building Inspections at 727-847-8127.

If at any time the online inspection system is inoperable, you may call the regular inspection telephone line at (727) 847-8127, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

 Cancelling an Inspection

Please call Building Inspections at (727) 847-8127 to cancel an inspection between 7:00 am and 8:00 am no later than the morning of the inspection day.

Prepare the Site for Inspection

Make certain that the Building Permit placard and the reviewed and stamped set of building plans and specifications are posted on the job site for the inspector. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a FAILED inspection. A PASSING inspection will be signed on the Building Permit placard. A FAILED inspection will be recorded on a "Correction/Fail Notice" posted with the Building Permit placard. A re-inspection fee will be assessed to all FAILED inspections and must be paid prior to requesting a re-inspection.

  • If you don’t know who your Inspector is:

    • When the record appears, click on "Record Info" and then "Inspections"

Inspections General Information

The Building Inspections Division is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Pasco County as related to the construction industry. The Division reviews plans for all proposed new construction and alterations and conducts onsite inspections for conformity to established codes and County ordinances. The Division is also responsible for the issuance of Certificates of Competency to all construction trade workers within the County and verifying their conformity to State licensing requirements. Complaints regarding unlicensed contractors, un-permitted work, and substandard practices within the construction industry are investigated by the Division. Enforcement is implemented through posted notices, citations, and orders from the Pasco County Construction Board.

Interaction with the construction community has become a priority. Along with sponsoring and providing required continuing education, Building Inspections conducts meetings with various trade groups, superintendents and subcontractors, and provides review of policies and codes during subcontractor gatherings.

Building Inspections Division provides courteous, effective, and efficient review and inspection of building construction and related activities.

Normal inspection hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Inspectors have cellular phones and are available from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. The Cellular numbers are listed by inspector on the following Link: Staff
