Pasco County Fire Rescue protects the life, health, and safety of all residents and visitors to Pasco County through community risk reduction strategies. It provides a professional, compassionate response to calls for service, and aims to educate our community.
Pasco County Fire Rescue began as a career fire department in 1974 with Fire Stations located along the US-19 corridor. In a matter of a few years, Pasco County Fire Rescue became one of the fastest-growing departments in Central Florida. Pasco County Fire Rescue continues to keep stride with the booming growth throughout the county. Our fire stations and facilities cover approximately 764 square miles serving a population of close to 500,000 people.
The department operates out of 26 stations with over 600 paid professionals, and a support staff of approximately 65 people, which include administration, ambulance billing, and Fire Rescue Supply.
The department provides fire protection covering all of unincorporated Pasco County, including the cities of Dade City, San Antonio, and Saint Leo. Pasco County Fire Rescue also provides advanced life support level emergency medical ambulance services to the entire county. The department is a cross-trained agency in which all paid firefighters are required to be trained as EMTs or paramedics.
9-1-1 is the fastest, most reliable way to get help in an emergency. When seconds count...when, they make the difference between life and death. This easy to remember three-digit number provides immediate access to emergency personnel. As soon as the operator determines what is happening and where - help is on the way, even if we continue to ask further questions.
However, when people abuse 9-1-1 or tie up phone lines with non-emergency calls, someone who needs help may not be able to get through. Don’t put lives in danger. Know when to "Make the Right Call."
Some people aren’t sure when to dial 9-1-1. 9-1-1 is for real emergencies - when a response from police, fire, or medical personnel is needed immediately.
