This program is available countywide, including the six cities. Single family homes, villas, condominiums and townhomes are eligible. Mobile homes are only eligible if the land is owned, and the home was built after 1994. The value of the property cannot exceed $240,000 when the work is completed. The home must be Homesteaded, which can be found on PascoPA.com.
Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program
This program is for homeowners that need help funding major repairs on their homes. Eligible applicants must have incomes that are under 80% of the area median income (see household income table). Eligible repairs include, but are not limited to creating additional living space; or correcting substantial code violations, such as roof repair or replacement, ceilings; upgrading electrical, heating, septic/sewer, water facilities; and making handicapped modifications. We cannot fix the roof and ignore a dangerous electrical situation or unpermitted work.
How do I repay this Loan?
The funds from provided through Pasco County will be a zero interest loan that is usually recorded as a second mortgage on the property. The repayment of these funds help sustain our programs, allowing other people to be assisted in the future. However, we do not want to put your family in a situation that is not sustainable and could cause you financial hardship. Based on your eligibility, you will either begin to pay back your loan monthly, or if deferred, your payments will begin in either 3 or 5 years. This is a mortgage on your home and must be repaid.
