METTLER TOLEDO won Pasco EDC's Business of the Year for the large business category:
Mettler Toledo' s Ms. Margie Custin, Head of Customer Service, America, and Mr. Harry Seibert, Head of Sales accept the award from Mr. Bill Cronin, President and CEO of Pasco EDC, and Keith Appenzeller, CEO of King Engineering.
Their product inspection systems are used by manufacturers in many industries, including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, personal care, plastics and chemicals, to ensure the total quality of their products and improve the efficiency of their manufacturing and packaging processes.
Mettler Toledo is a Pasco EDC Award Finalist for their outstanding economic growth accomplishments in Pasco County, 2018. The final winners will be announced and recognized at the Pasco EDC 32nd Annual Awards and Trade Show at the Saddlebrook Resort and Spa, September 6th. All nominees were scored based on company growth, leadership in current business issues, and corporate citizenship.

The remainder of the Economic Incentive Agreement award payments will be paid, upon request, from the Pasco County General Fund for the Job Creation Incentive (JCI), Local Funding Support Qualified Targeted Industry (QTI Match) and the High Impact Job Creation Bonus (HIJCB).
The Jobs and Economic Opportunities Trust Fund total award to the Mettler Toledo project is $1,934,143.53
Description: The Office of Economic Growth processed Mettler Toledo's first Job Creation Incentive Award payment. Although this award is paid from the general fund, it is important to report that Mettler Toledo successfully brought more than the required 493 new, full time jobs to Pasco County!
Description: Mettler Toledo Training Reimbursement payments for the full award of $200,000 from the Jobs and Economic Opportunities Trust Fund is complete. There were more than 200 employees trained and more than nine classes supported through these funds.
Payments: 9/20/2018 for $123,838.93; 11/28/2018 for $47,973.39; and 2/15/2019 for $28,187.68

Description: Mettler Toledo Roadway Agreement Amendment: The construction actual costs were lower than estimated, therefore making the design and permitting costs a higher percentage of the project. This agreement amendment was to change the design and permitting % cap to fit the new, overall lower project cost.

Mettler-Toledo located it's operations in Pasco County, constructed a 250,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility, hired new employees for their expanding operations, and pays an average annual wage (for all jobs created) of at least $51,578 which, at the time of application, was one-hundred and fifty percent (150%) of the Pasco County average annual wage.
An independent report, determined the potential economic benefits of the Mettler-Toledo relocation would lead, directly or indirectly, to the creation of about 775 new jobs, provide salaries (direct and indirect) of approximately $41 million, and add approximately $79 million to the Gross County Product.
The approved Economic Incentive Agreement commits Pasco to provide numerous economic and development incentives:
a. Roadway infrastructure $3,050,000 (Jobs and Economic Opportunities Trust Fund)
b. Impact, permitting, connection, and mobility fees (Jobs and Economic Opportunities Trust Fund)
c. QTI local match $555,000
d. JCI $1,972,000
e. HIJCB 75% of project’s tax for 10 years
f. Training Funds $200,000 (Jobs and Economic Opportunities Trust Fund)

Description: Complete the extension of the NorthPointe Parkway roadway as a four lane divided public roadway for 1,673 feet with a maintenance and warranty agreement for three years.
